| High Workability Concretes |

|
The introduction of a Superplasticiser enables a High flow concrete to be produced, which has the benefit of being a highly mobile material, requiring less handling and placing with little or no compaction, all helping to increase productivity on site. Features and benefits: - Flowable concrete with a low water/cement ratio.
- Helps minimize segregation and bleeding.
- Less vibration required even in cases of congested steel reinforcement.
- Only affects the concrete properties in its fresh state, with hardened concrete unaffected.
- Can help to improve surface finish and texture.
- Increases adhesion to reinforcement and prestressed steel.
- Requires less handling in inaccessible locations.
Note (i) Some heavily reinforced structures or vertical elements are unsuitable for flowable concrete. (ii) Pressures can be assumed to be higher than conventional concrete and allowance should be made in formwork design. |
